Kirk Kapital, and its partner Polaris, have acquired the remaining shares in Scanmetals A/S (“Scanmetals”) from founder Ejvind Pedersen and one other original shareholder, thereby consolidating the ownership in the Danish recycling and metals recovery company.

Kirk Kapital first invested in Scanmetals in 2019, partnering with founder Ejvind Pedersen to support the continued development and professionalisation of the company. Since then, Scanmetals has grown into a leading European player within recovery of non-ferrous metals from primarily incinerator bottom ash, operating multiple facilities across Europe.

With this transaction, Ejvind Pedersen exits as shareholder, after more than 15 years as founder, owner and former CEO. He will continue to be affiliated with Scanmetals as an advisor, ensuring continuity and knowledge transfer as the company enters its next phase of development. The transaction marks the completion of a gradual generational transition, during which Ejvind Pedersen has successively transferred ownership and management responsibility while remaining closely involved in the company’s development.
