New forces on Kirk Kapital board

Former Fund Director and Investment Manager at ATP, Bjarne Graven Larsen, joins Kirk Kapital’s Board of Directors.

Chairman of the board of Kirk Kapital, Casper Kirk Johansen, is pleased that Bjarne Graven Larsen has agreed to join the Board of Directors.

“With Bjarne Graven Larsen on the board, we get one of the most competent and experienced investment professionals in Denmark on board. His resume speaks for itself, and it is a strengthening of Kirk Kapital that we now get such capacity in the boardroom”, says Casper Kirk Johansen.

Bjarne Graven Larsen retired in June this year as investment director in the Canadian pension fund Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, OTPP, where for the past two and a half years he has been responsible for managing assets of over DKK 1,000bn. OTPP is one of the world’s largest pension funds.

Bjarne Graven Larsen moved with his family back to Denmark in connection with his leaving OTPP. Prior to his job in Canada, he was CFO of Novo Holdings, which is the parent company of Novo Nordisk and Novozymes, and prior to that he was a member of the Executive Board of FIH Erhvervsbank. From 1999 to 2010, Bjarne Graven Larsen was ATP’s Fund Director and responsible for its investments.

I believe that as a board member with my background, I can contribute to strengthening the execution of this strategy, and I look forward to getting started on the board work,” says Bjarne Graven Larsen.

Casper Kirk Johansen explains that precisely the new strategy in Kirk Kapital has contributed to the great desire to have Bjarne Graven Larsen join the Board of Directors.

“Since hiring Kim Gulstad as the new CEO of Kirk Kapital just over a year ago, we have become much clearer in our strategy on both strategic and financial investments. In this context, it is a great strength that we can now also draw on Bjarne Graven Larsen’s competences,” says Casper Kirk Johansen.
