Kirk Kapital acquires 40 pct. of Dansk Træemballage

Kirk Kapital acquired a 40% stake in Dansk Træemballage A/S, the leading Scandinavian manufacturer of wooden packaging solutions.

The company develops and manufactures wooden packaging for approximately 1,500 customers across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and select export markets. DTE processes over 150,000 cubic meters of sawn wood and 350,000 cubic meters of raw wood annually across 11 Scandinavian production sites, establishing its position as the region’s market leader through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Kirk Kapital’s CEO Kim Gulstad expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating: “We are very impressed by the development of the company” and noted appreciation for the company’s commitment to “competitive sustainable wood packaging.”

Existing shareholders retained 60% ownership following the transaction and welcomed the partnership. Peter Jensen, CEO and shareholder of Dansk Træemballage, indicated that “Kirk Kapital shares our values and visions” for future growth.

With current revenue of approximately DKK 1 billion, shareholders aim for continued expansion through further consolidation opportunities in Sweden and Norway.

Kirk Kapital operates as a minority investor providing active support for portfolio company development. Kim Gulstad and Andreas Faerk joined the board of directors.
